Fair Away is a one-person independent project. Here's exactly what this site collects, what it doesn't, and why — no legal boilerplate, just plain language.
The short version
No cookies. No personal data stored. No tracking across sites. No advertising. One anonymised analytics tool to understand which pages are visited — that's it.
What this site does and doesn't collect
Anonymous page view analytics
Fair Away uses Simple Analytics — a privacy-first analytics tool. It counts page visits and referrers, without cookies, without fingerprinting, and without storing any personal data. No IP addresses are stored. Simple Analytics is GDPR-compliant by design. You can view their data policy at simpleanalytics.com.
Browser language for country suggestion
To suggest your home country at the top of the dropdown, Fair Away reads your browser's language setting (
navigator.language — e.g. "nl-NL" → Netherlands). This happens entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server. No IP address is used. No data is stored.No cookies
Fair Away sets no cookies — not for analytics, not for preferences, not for anything else. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
No personal data stored
Your country selection, slider settings and filter choices exist only in your browser during your visit. Nothing is saved to a database or server. Closing the tab clears it entirely.
Suggestion emails
If you email a destination suggestion or question, your message and email address reach only me. I use them to reply to you — nothing more. You're not added to any list, and I delete the message once it's resolved.
No advertising, no third-party trackers
Fair Away is ad-free and does not use any third-party advertising or tracking scripts (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no similar tools).
External links
Country pages may link to external organisations (IGLTA-certified accommodation, local LGBTQ+ groups, etc.). Once you click away from fair-away.org, their own privacy policies apply.
